Be Steadwell at Bromo Art Walk

Join us for Bromo Art Walk at Making Space Bmore! Musician and composer Be Steadwell brings her celebrated blend of vocal looping, harmonies, and beatboxing to our gallery for two intimate sets at 6pm and 7pm. The evening also features a community weaving project by Hannah Atallah, and risograph print demonstrations with JESS JESS PRESS. Currently on view in the gallery is the exhibition Tatreez Inheritance, presented in partnership with The Tatreez Institute, as well as installations by Hannah Atallah as part of The Third Place Artist Residency.

Be Steadwell

At 6PM or 7PM settle in for a short intimate performances by

Be Steadwell, whose signature vocal looping and soulful melodies weave together layered soundscapes of love and liberation.

Be Steadwell is a queer pop artist, filmmaker, and storyteller who uses music as a tool for connection and liberation. With a unique blend of soul, pop, and a cappella, her songs explore love, identity, and joy within the Black queer experience. Be has performed at The Kennedy Center, The Apollo, Pride festivals around the world, and was a featured vocalist in the Carnegie Hall concert Celebrate the Music of Resistance. She continues to expand the landscape of pop music by centering Black queer stories.
