The Space

Land and Community

Making Space Bmore is sited on part of the unceded ancestral homelands of the Piscataway and Susquehannock Nations.

Our buildings on North Howard Street were constructed in the late 1800s and notably housed Skarie, Inc. a major woodworking and industrial supply company founded in 1948. Skarie, Inc. departed Howard Street in 2014.

Between 2019-2022, the buildings were meticulously renovated to become a unique arts and community hub. We are located in the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood and are part of the Bromo Arts District, home to over 30 cultural organizations and hundreds of artists.

The Print Studio

Our printmaking studio is a dedicated space for creative collaboration and community-driven projects. We offer access to the studio for our Artists-in-Residence to produce work that challenges the status quo and supports meaningful social change.

Our printmaking studio remains an essential resource for artists and organizations to create work that engages and transforms the community. With ongoing partnerships with artists and organizations Islam & Print and JESS JESS PRESS, the space continues to serve as a hub for creativity and social change.
